Inspire launch 2025 Youth Board!
At Inspire, our beneficiaries are at the forefront of all that we do and for this reason we are thrilled to announce that we have recruited a group of young people aged 15-19 to form our new Youth Board. Over six meetings throughout the year, the group will discuss programme improvements and create a new Theory of Change for the charity. We intend for the programme to be transformative for our youth board members, including providing opportunities to develop skills and network with our business partners.
We asked our new Youth Board members what motivated them to take part:
“I want to become a Youth Board member to make a difference in the community share ideas and represent our voices in important decisions.” Mysha
“As a youth board member, I want to be given a voice for young people, advocating for them and ensuring they have access to the same opportunities as the more privileged. I can contribute by providing first-hand experience giving them the tools they need to succeed in the future..” Istahil
We met nine Youth Board members at the first session on Wednesday 11th December at Mirror Works, our offices in Stratford. Here, we found out more about how the group had experienced careers education and started to define a vision & mission for our work together.
Youth Board members brought an impressive array of strengths to the table, including creativity, attention to detail, determination, teamwork, communication and a passion to improve social mobility for young people in disadvantaged areas.
Look out for regular updates from the Board, and a new section on our website that will introduce our Youth Board members.
Representatives from our Youth Board will also give a short presentation at our next Supporters Network Celebration on Wednesday 22nd January.
